Honoring the Dead of Our Tribe
This year we have lost oh so many people near and dear to us and the community. We feel very fortunate to have had Raven and Joshua agree to do an “AFTER HOURS” to facilitate this important gathering
For many of us, the people who inspired us, mentored us, and brought us into these communities and practices are as much (or more) our ancestors as any genetic member of our family. For that matter, our Leather or M/s or poly families sometimes take the place of blood kin for many of us – so what do we do when they pass on, and we don’t want their memory forgotten?
This class will discuss how to create sensitive community memorial rituals, honor our traditions, and integrate spiritual elements in inclusive ways.
We’ll end with a short memorial ritual for the Dead of our Tribe. Attendees can bring photos, items of remembrance, or just names to place on a communal altar for the length of the class/ritual.
